TRAFFIC CONTROL

Where:
On any road, particularly where the view of the upcoming Yield sign is limited, for example, around a bend, over a hill, or where vegetation, buildings, or other obstacles may block your line of sight.

Purpose:
To warn that there is a Yield (Give Way) sign ahead, which you might not see in time without prior notice.
This advance warning helps you prepare to slow down and approach the intersection, junction, or circle with caution.
The Yield sign ahead means you must give right of way to traffic on the intersecting road.

Action:
Reduce your speed as you approach the area.
Be alert for vehicles coming from the left or right, as well as for pedestrians or cyclists who may be crossing.
In some cases, the Yield sign may indicate that a traffic circle (roundabout) is ahead, approach slowly and be prepared to yield to traffic already circulating within the circle.
Stop completely if necessary, and proceed only when it is safe to do so.
